For the best performance by an actor in a leading role
DUSTIN HOFFMAN in WAG THE DOG
who, as Stanley Motts, undergoes those excruciating difficulties
all too familiar to producers in the film industry while
being given an extra added plus that most have been
lucky enough to avoid. When it comes to the crunch, it
isn't "nothing" (to use a correct double negative). Just
goes to show you, politics and celluloid don't mix.
(Hear that, Ron? Just nod, dear. America is watching.)
